1918 Peddled Scheme Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk. III* Canadian Army-marked service rifle (photo), .303 British-chambered barrel has frosted rifling. Matching serial numbers on bolt, receiver and rear sight leaf. Some blueing remaining and some finish going to patina. There is a repair on the buttstock that is starting to separate (photo).

The Peddled Scheme was a plan to have the Birmingham civilian gun trade manufacture and repair Lee-Enfield service rifles. The plan was put back into action during the Second World War as "Birmingham Dispersed Production."
